Let there be Lights!!

Madison Recreation is thrilled to host our 3rd annual

Festival of Lights and Scavenger Hunt

December 14-20, 2025

We invite our Madison community to celebrate the season and light up the nights in a festive week-long display of holiday spirit.

Step 1:  Decorate and Register your Display!

1. Decorate your home or business with a holiday light display and theme of your choosing.
2. Give your display a name to use for registration.
3. Add a fun display element for folks to “I Spy” a scavenger hunt item from the comfort of their vehicles.  <<– Check out Sneaky Mr. Grinch from our 2023 Winners – AND – 2024 Winners!
4. Pick a category for your display: Most Festive, Classic and Classy, or Best Scavenger Hunt Item.
5. Register via the link below by Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
6. Be prepared to light up your display starting Sunday, December 14 at 5:00 pm.

The displays will be assigned a number and their name added to the Madison Rec Festival of Lights map.  Printed maps and an online Google Map will be available by Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Step 2: View and Vote for the Displays!  

Displays officially light up 5:00pm – 9:00pm on Sunday, December 14 through Saturday, December 20, 2025 . 

• Grab your map and your voting form!  Online and printed versions will be available.
• Follow the map Sunday to Saturday, December 14-20, 2025.
• Enjoy the displays, and try spy the “scavenger hunt” items in the displays.
• Please *do not* drive up driveways and *do not* leave your vehicle.
• Vote for your favorite displays online or by the paper voting form.

Voting will close on Saturday, December 20, 2025 and winners announced Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Maps and Voting Forms

The Madison Rec 2025 Festival of Lights Map will be available as an interactive Google Map to help in navigating around town, and as PDF document that can be downloaded and viewed on any device, or printed.  Be sure to have the PDF handy to see the exact address and title of each display, and what scavenger hunt item to look for in the display.

Voting Forms: Voting will open Sunday, December 14, close on Saturday, December 20, and winners announced Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Important Dates

So, to keep it all straight…

• December 10 – Wednesday:  Registration Deadline for Festival of Lights displays.
• December 14 – Sunday:  Light up the night!
• December 14 – 20:  Week-long Festival to view the Lights. Voting open!
• December 20 – Saturday:  Voting closes.
• December 21 – Sunday:  Winners announced!
